The most common causes of deposit error are:
- Issues with the uploaded file name
- Not specifying "supporting information" when depositing multiple files
- The publication wasn't deposited using the UC Publication Management System
- Where should the publication be updated?
- Can I withdraw the eScholarship version and redeposit using the UC Publication Management System?
1. Issues with the uploaded file name
The system automatically rejects files with certain typographical symbols. Please try editing the file name and reloading.
2. "Supporting information" must be identified when uploading 2+ files
The system will send an error if you do not specify which files are "supporting information". To deposit your article and two appendices, please specify the "version" of each file, as in the screenshot below:
3. The publication wasn't deposited using the UC Publication Management System
You can only update articles which were deposited using the UC Publication Management System. First try using the eScholarship Submission System to update your publication. If you do not see the option to update your work, please contact your Library eScholarship contact who is listed on your campus's landing page, or contact eScholarship Support directly.
