Who has access to the UC Publication Management System

The California Digital Library works with the University of California campuses and the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory to ensure that authors of articles which fall under the UC open access policies have access to the UC Publication Management System. The UCPMS supports different levels of access defined below.

"Login access" means that you may log in using your campus account and that your user profile information (name, email address, departmental affiliation(s)) is synchronized monthly with data from your campus.

The following user groups have login access:

  • University of California campuses (all)
    • Senate-represented faculty
    • Nonsenate-represented faculty
    • Academic employees
    • Non-academic employees identified as likely to a) publish works that fall under the open access policies, or b) assist with managing eligible publications
  • Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory employees
  • Awardees of the UC Office of the President Research Grants Program Office (PIs only, including non-UC PIs)

Notifications

"Notifications access" means that you are eligible to receive biweekly reminder notifications from the UCPMS if it has found new articles for you to verify and deposit to eScholarship. The CDL are working with UC campuses to roll out notifications to all academic employees. The following user groups have notifications access:

  • University of California campuses (all)
    • Senate-represented faculty
    • Nonsenate faculty and academic employees: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside (partial), San Diego, San Francisco
  • Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory
    • Research employees
    • Campus joint appointees
  • Awardees of the UC Office of the President Research Grants Program Office
  • All individuals assigned as delegates

Reporting

"Reporting access" means that you may run reports about department or campus-wide activity participating in UC's open access policies. The Library open access policy support teams at University of California campuses, Lawrence Berkeley Lab, and Research Grants Program office who serve as their campus administrators for the UCPMS also have reporting access to the system.
